Yorkshire Blogger

'Ey up!

Ah've bin in a reet Yorkshire mood lately. Not only 'cos I have lived here for most of me life but also 'cos ah've bin working on a recent event held in Harrogate and Hull called the Yorkshire International Business Convention (or YIBC for short).

But while t'location and t'event organisers may be Yorkshire in origin, less can be said about the speakers, some of whom came half way around the world to be there. Well, maybe not just to come to Yorkshire, but I would like to think so.

I'll be the Judge of that!

Ok, an extremely tedious link, but I have just been editing an interview with Sir Paul Judge. He's had such an amazing career that the unedited interview, in which he talks us through each step, is over an hour and a half long. From growing up in London, he went on to study at Trinity College, Cambridge and graduated with an MBA from Wharton Business School. He then spent 13 years working at Cadbury Schweppes, where the went on to lead the buyout of the UK, Irish and French food part of the business to form Premier Brands.

Brilliant Networking

Networking is without a doubt an important part of most people's professional (and sometimes private) lives, but is rarely taught as a skill, so how exactly do you network effectively?

Building Momentum

So, we have decided on Momentum as the new name for our business audio series, Red Business. Now we're finalising the design details and if you're already a subscriber you can expect the first programme to drop through your door in August. There'll be a new cover, new music and new features based on your feedback, so I hope you're pleased with the result! Your comments are always welcome.

The Legend of Lord MacLaurin

I'm working hard at the moment to make the first issue of our new series of "Red Business" a fantastic audio programme. I use speech marks there because it might not be called Red Business, we're trying to think of a new name that sums up our subscribers (typically chief execs and senior managers) but also conveys that people like to listen in their cars and on the move. Our top two titles are:

Momentum
and
Business Drive

Answers on a postcard please!

Arranging interviews and all that...

Hello and thank you for returning yet again for more talk about work. So what can I tickle your tastebuds with this week?

I've been busy arranging interviews for the next volume of our audio magazine, Red Business, so here's a bit more about the type of people/companies you will hear from...

The Final Chapter...

This week I feel a bit sad as we're reaching the end of an era. I'm currently working on the last issue of Red Business in Volume 4. If you're not familiar with the programme - YOU SHOULD BE! It's (kind of) a monthly audio magazine that we produce for business leaders and entrepreneurs on CD and audio download, so that you can listen on the move.

Red Business began life on cassette, and was initially known as Red Tape (see what we did there?), but has now moved into the digital age.

Working with NLP

Hello and welcome to the second instalment of my magnificent blog. I know you're desperate to find out what I've been up to this week so let me enlighten you...

As well as working on the Brilliant series, this week I have recorded the first interview for a brand new NLP audio programme, 'NLP for Business', which will grow to become a 3-cd skills series box set - kind of like a masterclass in NLP, RRP £100.

I am a Brilliant Producer

Yes, it's true, I am officially a Brilliant producer! Why's that I hear you cry? Well, as a matter of fact, Red Audio have agreed to produce one Brilliant programme a month for at least the next year! Confused? Excited? Let me tell you more...
