'Ey up!

Ah've bin in a reet Yorkshire mood lately. Not only 'cos I have lived here for most of me life but also 'cos ah've bin working on a recent event held in Harrogate and Hull called the Yorkshire International Business Convention (or YIBC for short).

But while t'location and t'event organisers may be Yorkshire in origin, less can be said about the speakers, some of whom came half way around the world to be there. Well, maybe not just to come to Yorkshire, but I would like to think so.

The event was held across two locations, one being the Yorkshire Event Centre in Harrogate and the other at the Gemtec Arena in Hull, on June 6th 2008. An impressive line up of speakers included:

• Richard Reed
• George Foreman
• Major Phil Ashby
• Ken Hames
• John Howard

As the audio specialists at the event we were able to record the whole day's speeches, as well as individual interviews with the speakers, with plenty of Innocent smoothies to keep us fuelled. The result will be an audio highlights CD which will feature extracts from key speeches as well as clips from the interviews, not forgetting a word from the event organiser, Mike Firth.

It was really great to see and hear so many interesting and inspirational speakers and I'm sure it will be a challenge to improve this even more for next year.
